Samuel Beckett Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Dublin that joins Sir John Rogerson's Quay on the south side of the River Liffey to Guild Street and North Wall Quay in the Docklands area.
The 'Guinness Harp' design of the bridge is striking but it's difficult to capture the whole bridge without diminishing its impact. I tried various compositions but most of them were dominated by the Liffey itself. It was then I started to explore the details of the bridge.
This particular detail helps emphasise the 'strings' of the harp and I like the way it shows the curve and line of the bridge. I took this picture soon after sunrise and the bright sunshine has created some wonderful shadows and highlights.
