This picture shows a tram arriving and departing at the MetroLink stop in Media City in Salford Quays, Manchester.

Media City has a great energy about it, drawn from the organisations that have chosen to make it their base such as the BBC, ITV and tech companies like Ericcson. I wanted to capture some of that energy but the buildings themselves are static and frankly, a little boring, so I hunted around for more movement. I noticed the metro arriving and thought this might make a good image but the trains are stationary or at least slow moving when they are at the station. I thought my multiple perspective approach might work well here so I took four images for later blending.

I was very satisfied with the way this image turned out. When looked at full size, the train looks like it's almost three-dimensional, escaping from the print.

A blend of four images taken with an Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mk 2 and a 12mm lens. Two images taken at 1/250 sec, f/4, ISO 200. Two images taken at 1/60 sec, f/8, ISO 200.
