This picture shows a group of cyclists travelling north to south over the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle. The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art can be seen on the south side of the river as well as the railings of the bridge.
I took this picture at about 6:30pm when the Millennium Bridge bustles with activity: locals travelling home or heading out to eat; tourists taking selfies with the Tyne in the background; and cyclists working their way over the bridge. I thought that my multiple exposure technique would create an interesting effect here, similar to looking through the eyes of the cyclist speeding over the bridge.
It feels that there is just one cyclist in this picture but in fact there are about six unique cyclists. I'm not sure if they were cycling as a group or if they came together by chance. The illusion of the single cyclist comes about mainly through the way I processed the image but also because they were wearing similar clothing.
A blend of ten images taken with an Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mk 2 and a 12mm lens. Images taken at 1/1000 sec, f/4, ISO 200..
